My apologies.

I’ll be the first to admit when I don’t know something. So, here I am admitting that I have absolutely zero knowledge on how RSS feeds work. In fact, I don’t even really understand exactly what they are. I know it delivers my content to your google reader or whatever reader you use, but I don’t really understand how. I also know that many bloggers have a counter showing off hundreds or thousands of subscribers. I would proudly display my few subscribers, but I have no idea how to do that. Perhaps a project for the future?

Although, here is the problem I am having, or rather had. Even if I were to figure out how to add a counter right now, I would only show off zero subscribers. After a few hours of trying to figure out how to get my previous RSS to work (it wasn’t updating my posts), someone on a forum suggested just installing a new one. I really didn’t want to do that because I didn’t want to inconvenience the subscribers that I already had by asking them to re-subscribe. Said person told me that I didn’t have to lose the subscribers and went on about some sort of redirecting possibility that Feedburner offered. Wonderful!

So, that’s how it happened. My excitement got ahead of me, and I went ahead creating a new feed and deleting the other one – apparently thinking that the redirection would just happen automatically. Yeah. Did I mention that I have no idea how all this works? So, I am writing this post to apologize to those who signed up, didn’t get any updates (because it never worked – reason unknown) and now I am doing just that which I really wanted to avoid – asking you to re-subscribe. I will bake you some cookies?
