On traveling light.

In about 3 weeks, I’m going on a little vacation. I will be going to England, Wales, Portugal, France, Romania and Ukraine. I will be gone for a bit over a month, which is not that long, but long enough to merit taking a tightly packed huge suitcase along with me. Right? For the first time in my life, I have decided to travel nearly empty handed! A bit of background. I am one of those people always over packs. I am one of those people who takes 20 extra outfits, just in case. I take a couple of books, a few extra pens, a few pads of paper – all just in case. You...

Lend your service, own your life.

One thing about blogging  that I love is coming across so many wonderful people. This blog is rather new, but already I met some interesting folks. I’ve joined many different social networks and posted comments on many different blogs, all in the hope that people will swing by and like what they see. Thankful Thursdays: Week 46

I also can’t begin to tell you how thankful I am that my MacBook is still alive after hearing it hyperventilate quite extremely last night. My iPod. That might seem like an...

Words of Wisdom

Today I offer you simple advice. Take a few minutes right now and think about your life. No, don’t just scroll down or leave the page. Really, take just a few minutes and imagine the life that you would want, ideally. It’s nice, isn’t it? This is it. This is the purpose of life....

Beauty Today, the typewriter.

A few days ago I introduced a new series of posts that I will call Beauty Today. As I mentioned in that post, I think it is important to look at the beauty in everything. Beauty is not just the symmetric, blemish free face or the perfectly arranged English garden. No, beauty is so much more than that. Beauty is also the dying flowers in an unkept garden and the face that everyone is afraid to look at. It is natural to be afraid to look at a face that doesn’t resemble that which you are used to, and it is also natural to just walk by the unkept garden without even...
